Home Cinema Rooms, Designed and Installed in Shropshire
We design, build and calibrate dedicated home cinema rooms and media rooms across Shropshire, Cheshire and the West Midlands, from our Control4 Certified Showroom in Shrewsbury. As an Arcam Centre of Cinematic Excellence and Monitor Audio Platinum dealer, we handle everything: acoustics, projection, seating, lighting and control. We've been doing it since 2006. Watch a film in our demonstration cinema before you commit to anything.
You Might Not Need a Dedicated Cinema Room
A purpose-built cinema room is glorious: controlled light, proper acoustics, seats nobody argues over. But it’s not right for every house, and we’d rather say so early. Plenty of families get more use from a well-designed media room: a living room or snug with a big picture, properly placed speakers and one remote. Sit in our demonstration cinema in Shrewsbury, then decide. We design both, and we’ll tell you straight which suits your home and how you’ll actually use it.

Get a QuotationThe Cinema Experience, at Home
A properly designed cinema room is more than a big screen and a soundbar. It's a room engineered around the film: acoustics that keep the sound in the room and the dialogue clear, a screen sized and positioned for your seating, speakers chosen and placed for the space, and lighting that gets out of the way when the film starts. Done well, it becomes the most-used room in the house.
We've been designing and installing cinema and media rooms since 2006, from full basement conversions to compact attic rooms, and every system is calibrated by our own engineers before we hand it over. One remote runs the lot: lights dim, blinds close, the projector fires up, and the film starts.

Dedicated Cinema Rooms & Media Rooms
We design a cinema room that works for your space, whatever the size, from a large basement conversion to a compact attic room. The design considers every aspect of the room: acoustics and sound leakage, wiring, furnishings, screen position and the right viewing distance from your seats.
That means the right type, the right number and the right arrangement of speakers for the room — not a package off a shelf. And once everything is installed, our engineers calibrate the system by measurement, so the sound and picture perform as the design intended.
- Room design covering acoustics, sound isolation, wiring and furnishings
- Speaker selection and placement matched to the room
- Screen size and seating distance worked out properly, not guessed
- Full fit-out available, with one company managing the whole project
- Precision calibration of audio and video after installation
Everything a Cinema Room Needs
Room Design & Acoustics
Acoustic treatment, sound isolation and layout designed before a single cable goes in, so dialogue stays clear and the sound stays in the room, not the rest of the house.
Projection & Screens
Projectors, motorised and fixed screens sized for your room and viewing distance, or large-format displays where a media room suits the space better.
Immersive Audio
Surround and Dolby Atmos speaker systems built around Arcam electronics and Monitor Audio loudspeakers, the ranges we're accredited for and keep on demonstration.
Cinema Seating
Comfortable, robust and customisable cinema seating arranged around the screen and the acoustics. That way every seat in the room is a good one.
Smart Lighting Scenes
Walkway lights, soft feature lighting and one-touch scenes that set the room for a film, a console session or the big match. See our smart lighting page for more.
One-Remote Control
Control4 ties the whole room together: one press dims the lights, closes the blinds, drops the screen and starts the film. No hunting for the right remote or the right input.

Home Cinema, Answered Plainly
Do I need a dedicated room for a home cinema?
No. A dedicated cinema room gives the best result, but a well-designed media room delivers a genuinely cinematic experience in a room the family uses every day: a living room or snug with a large screen or projector, properly placed speakers and one-remote control. We design both, and we'll tell you honestly which suits your house.
What's the difference between a cinema room and a media room?
A cinema room is a dedicated space built around film: controlled lighting, acoustic treatment, tiered seating and a projector and screen. A media room is a multi-purpose living space that also does film very well. Typically that's a large TV or projector with surround sound, sharing the room with everyday life. The design priorities differ, and we'll recommend the right approach for your space.
How long does a cinema room installation take?
It varies with the project. A media room upgrade in an existing space is quicker than a dedicated cinema room involving fit-out works, acoustic treatment and new wiring. Typical dedicated rooms run to weeks rather than days. We confirm the timescale in your written proposal before any work starts, and we've been told more than once that we finish on the dates we give.
Can I hear a system before I buy?
Yes, and we'd encourage it. Our Shrewsbury showroom has a working demonstration cinema with the Arcam and Monitor Audio equipment we install, so you can sit down and watch a film before you decide anything. We also offer virtual reality demonstrations so you can explore how a cinema room would look and work in your own space. Call 01743 234945 to book.
