Smart Bulbs Aren’t Lighting Control
An app-controlled bulb is fine for a lamp, but it isn’t lighting control, and this is where we’re straight with people. Lutron controls the circuits themselves: keypads replace banks of switches, scenes cover the whole house, everything still works from the wall when the internet is down, and the wireless versions retrofit into finished rooms without chasing walls. Where ordinary smart bulbs and app-controlled switches feel like gadgets, a Lutron system is engineered infrastructure: keypads that always respond, dimming that is smooth and silent from full brightness down to a candle-glow one per cent, and blinds that move in perfect unison.

Lutron isn’t a rival to Control4, and it doesn’t try to be. It won’t run your music, your cinema or your cameras. It concentrates on two things, lighting control and motorised window coverings, and does them to a standard nobody else quite matches.

Lutron and Control4, Working as One
As a Control4 Certified Showroom, we program Lutron lighting and blinds to work hand in hand with the Control4 systems we install, so audio, video, security, lighting and shading all answer to the same keypad, remote or app.
One "Film Night" button can dim the lights, close the blinds and start the cinema. A "Good Morning" scene can raise the blinds and bring the kitchen lights up gently. That's the point of doing it properly.

Lutron, Answered Plainly
What's the difference between RA3 and HomeWorks?
HomeWorks is Lutron's flagship platform, designed for larger homes and new builds where the whole property is wired for it. RA3 delivers much of the same experience (scenes, keypads, app control) but retrofits into an existing home wirelessly. We'll recommend the right one for your property, not the biggest one.
Can Lutron be installed without rewiring my house?
Yes. RA3 and RA2 are designed for retrofit: dimmers replace your existing switches and communicate wirelessly, so most homes need no new cabling at all. For new builds and major renovations, a wired HomeWorks system is worth considering from the first fix.
Do Lutron blinds and lighting work with Control4?
Yes, natively. We program Lutron and Control4 to operate as a single system, so one keypad, remote or app runs your lighting, blinds, audio, video and security together.
