Commercial Audio Visual Installation — Shropshire & West Midlands
We design and install commercial audio visual systems across Shropshire and the West Midlands — meeting rooms, video conferencing, background music, digital signage and presentation systems for offices, bars, restaurants and venues. The same design-first approach we bring to smart homes, applied to your business.
The Bit Most Commercial Fit-Outs Forget
Most businesses sort the fit-out, the branding and the IT — and completely overlook the technology customers actually feel. Lighting that shifts with the time of day sets the mood of a room and cuts energy use. Music at the right level shapes how long customers stay — bars, restaurants and hospitality live and die on atmosphere. A meeting room that starts on time saves the same ten minutes every day. That’s our side of technology: invisible when it’s right, obvious when it’s missing, and far cheaper to design in than to bolt on later.
Do You Have a Project We Can Help With?
Get a QuotationAudio Visual That Works Every Day, For Everyone
A commercial AV system is judged on one thing: whether your staff and your customers can actually use it. A meeting room that takes ten minutes to connect to, a bar where the music cuts out on a busy Friday, a presentation screen nobody knows how to switch on — these are design failures, not equipment failures.
Since 2006 we’ve delivered commercial audio visual projects across offices, bars, restaurants, community halls and training facilities. Our in-house team of designers, installers and programmers works under one project manager, so the system you’re handed at the end is simple, reliable and genuinely intuitive — and we stay on hand long after the invoice.

The Same Discipline, Applied to Business
Most of our week is spent designing smart homes and cinema rooms where the standard is unforgiving: everything hidden, everything reliable, everything controllable by anyone in the house. We bring exactly that discipline to commercial work.
That means your system is designed on paper before a single cable is run — sound coverage planned room by room, screens sized and positioned for real sightlines, control simplified to the point where a new member of staff can run it on day one.
- Designed, installed and programmed by one in-house team
- Cabling, brackets and equipment concealed and finished properly
- Control simplified to one panel, keypad or app — no stack of remotes
- Commercial-grade equipment specified for all-day, every-day use
- Systems demonstrated in our Control4 Certified Showroom in Shrewsbury

Commercial WiFi & Networks
Reliable connectivity is the foundation under every system above. We design and install commercial-grade WiFi, networking and structured cabling — read more here.
Control & Automation
One touch panel or keypad running audio, video, lighting and screens together — an “Open Up” scene for the start of trading, a “Meeting” scene for the boardroom, all programmed by us.
One Contractor, Whole Project
Commercial AV projects go wrong in the gaps — between the electrician, the IT company and whoever supplied the screens. We close those gaps by handling the whole job in-house: one team designs the system, runs the cabling, installs the equipment, programs the control and supports it afterwards. One point of contact, one company responsible for the result.

Minimal Disruption to Trading
- Installation scheduled around your business — discussed and agreed per project

- Site left clean and workable at the end of every visit
- Coordination with your builder, electrician or fit-out contractor where needed

A Facility Fit for the 21st Century
"We commissioned SMC Custom Installs to re-fit our training room to provide a combined presentation and video conferencing facility. The work carried out was to a very high standard and great attention to detail given to each stage of the process. The desired aims of the project were met and more often exceeded, we now have a facility fit for the 21st century which is simple and intuitive to use. I would recommend SMC Custom Installs without reservation"Steve Vickers · Training Room Installation
Commercial AV, Answered Plainly
Do you work outside normal business hours?
Installation scheduling is discussed and agreed per project. Where a job would disrupt trading or a working office, we plan the work around you — phasing it, working in quieter periods, or arranging specific windows with you in advance. Tell us your constraints at the consultation stage and we’ll build the schedule around them.
Can you integrate video conferencing with our existing room?
Yes — most of our meeting room projects are upgrades to existing rooms rather than new builds. We assess what can be kept, add cameras, microphones and displays that suit the room’s size and layout, and set the system up to work with the platform your business already uses, such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Google Meet.
Do you support the systems after installation?
Yes. Support is part of how we work, not an afterthought — the same in-house team that designed and programmed your system remains your point of contact afterwards. Many issues can be diagnosed and resolved remotely, and we’re based in Shrewsbury when a site visit is needed.
Do you handle both small offices and larger venues?
Yes. Projects range from a single meeting room or a background music system for one bar, up to multi-room offices, restaurants and community venues. The process is the same at any scale: design first, one in-house team, one point of contact. If you’re not sure whether your project fits, call 01743 234945 and ask.
