4K upscaling for your existing Blu-ray discs
As well as UHD Blu-ray discs, the UBP-X800M2 also plays conventional (FHD 1080p) Blu-ray discs to a higher standard. Provided your TV accepts a UHD 4K signal, the Sony upscales the image to make use of its full resolution, giving improved detail and realism.

HDR to SDR convertor
If your current TV isn’t compatible with HDR, the Sony features an HDR to SDR convertor. Sony’s unique technology lets you playback HDR-encoded discs on a regular 4K UHD TV, offering the highest picture quality possible.

Supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X discs
This player not only supports the highest quality picture formats, it also supports the best movie sound formats. When used with a suitable multi-channel sound system, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X provide sensational audio, with object based imaging for a totally immersive sound.
